Kelly Osbourne has revealed she has put back on about 13kg after a period of drastic weight loss that left fans alarmed by her appearance at this year's Brit Awards, saying that at her lowest ebb 'eating made me feel like I wanted to throw up' as she struggled with grief and emotional distress.

The 41-year-old, who turns 42 this month, said she did not realise how thin she had become until she saw photographs from the ceremony at Co-op Live in Manchester on 28 February.

She joined her mother Sharon on stage to accept a Lifetime Achievement award on behalf of her father, Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne, who died in July 2025 aged 76.

'I didn't know that I looked like that until I saw the pictures,' she said. 'When I saw them, I couldn't f***ing believe it. I was as shocked as everyone else.'

Social media users commented on her appearance after the ceremony, with some speculating about an eating disorder or cosmetic surgery.

Osbourne rejected suggestions she was battling an eating disorder and said she had been so overwhelmed by grief that basic self-care slipped. 'I just couldn't do anything for myself,' she said.

'Worst Year of My Life': Kelly Osbourne on Grief and Weight Loss

Osbourne described the past 12 months as 'the worst year' of her life. As well as losing her father, she also split from her then fiancé, Slipknot musician Sid Wilson, earlier this year.

'It felt like everything inside me was dead, and I didn't want my son to see me like this,' she said.

She said she visited her father's grave with a white candle, on which she wrote 'Please help me', in what she called 'candle magic'. The next day, she said, her mother arrived in a car with therapist and life coach Chris Miller. Osbourne had assumed she was being taken to rehab, but credits Mr Miller with 'saving my life'.

'I've learned that my grief is an honour, as I truly love someone that much,' she said. She later appeared on the We Need to Talk podcast, where she marked eight months of sobriety after relapsing into drinking following her father's death. 'I will never, ever be over it,' she said.

Kelly Osbourne Pushes Back on Surgery Rumours and Online Cruelty

Osbourne also addressed claims that her changed appearance was the result of cosmetic surgery. She said she had not undergone plastic surgery, although she had Botox injections between her eyebrows and in her jaw. She has said she grinds her teeth and experiences severe migraines.

'This is the face that God and my family gave me, and whether you like it or not, that's up to you, but I'm alright with it,' she said.

In March, she used Instagram Stories to criticise the 'special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something'.

She told The Sun she was tired of being treated like the teenager from reality series The Osbournes. 'I'm not a kid anymore. I'm 42 this month, and I keep getting treated like a 16-year-old,' she said.

'No one knows what people are dealing with in private. I was just sad.' She said she has since 'closed my circle' and now relies on a smaller group of people she trusts.
