Megan Fox Says She Was 'Born For' Erectile Dysfunction Pill Ad

Megan Fox has said she was 'born for' fronting an advert for an erectile dysfunction (ED) treatment, as a new campaign taking over Times Square sparked online scrutiny over her 'unrecognisable' appearance.
The 40-year-old actress plays 'Ro Sparks', the personification of a product from US telehealth firm Ro, in a television advert and a campaign taking over Times Square in New York. She spoke about the campaign in an interview with People on Thursday 1 October.
A clip of the advert posted on X drew comments about how different Fox looked compared with a few months ago. 'Doesn't even look like her,' one user wrote. Others speculated that she had undergone cosmetic surgery, and some of the remarks were abusive. None of the claims has been verified. Fox had not publicly responded at the time of writing.
Flirty ED Advert Fronted by Fox
Ro describes Ro Sparks as a two-in-one treatment containing sildenafil and tadalafil, the active ingredients in Viagra and Cialis, respectively. Both ingredients are approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), but the compounded Ro Sparks medication itself is not FDA approved.
The company says the medication dissolves under the tongue, starts working in around 15 minutes and can remain active for up to 36 hours.
In the advert, Fox wears a skin-tight red catsuit bearing the Ro Sparks logo and speaks to the camera as if she were the pill. 'If prescribed, I show up right at your door,' she says. 'Don't worry, my packaging is very discreet.'
Fox told People: 'I personally feel like maybe I was born for this. There's not a better person to have been involved in this.' She has often been cast as a sex symbol in films including Transformers and Jennifer's Body. Ro said in a press release that the concept was 'an idea that wouldn't work with anyone else'.
Fox said she had expected to ask the company to make the material bolder. Instead, she said, 'we actually had to go back and be like, "Maybe we could dial it down a little bit"'.
Ro said its research found that men respond more positively to ED marketing when the messenger is a woman. Its previous celebrity partners, including Serena Williams and Charles Barkley, have spoken about their personal experiences with Ro's GLP-1 offerings.
Fox Aims To Tackle ED Stigma
Fox said she hoped the campaign would ease the shame around ED. 'You're not defective,' she said. 'You can talk about this. You don't have to hide it.'
She argued that the condition affects couples rather than individuals, particularly in long-term relationships. 'Transparency is very important, and your ability to support your partner and help them feel comfortable speaking about these things is very important as well,' she said. In the advert she says: 'We're on the same team.'
Past Comments on Cosmetic Procedures
Fox has previously spoken publicly about cosmetic procedures. On Alex Cooper's Call Her Daddy podcast in March 2024, she said she had breast augmentation in her early twenties, had the implants redone after breastfeeding and later had them replaced because of rippling.
She also said she had a nose job in her early twenties but rejected claims she had had many. She said she had never had a thread lift, buccal fat removal or liposuction. 'I feel like there's this stigma and I'm not going to win; however, I hope it sets some people free,' she said at the time.
