Miranda Kerr has revealed she turned down an invitation to return to the 2026 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show after feeling anxious about walking the runway in her underwear at 43 and as a mother of four boys.

'Everyone's in their underwear,' the Australian model said. 'I'm 43. I have four boys.'

Kerr, who last walked for the brand in 2012, spoke about her decision on the 3 November episode of Amanda Hirsch's Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast.

The latest show took place in Los Angeles on 18 October, following editions in New York in 2024 and 2025. She explained that Victoria's Secret had asked her back to mark 20 years since her first appearance for the brand.

Anxiety Eased After Saying No to Victoria's Secret Runway

Kerr said she initially reacted with excitement, recalling the backstage atmosphere of her early years with the company. She remembered the 'playful' mood of past shows before her feelings shifted.

She said she meditated on the decision, trying to visualise how she would feel on the runway now compared with more than a decade ago. Instead of the adrenaline she associated with earlier appearances, she developed a 'knot' in her stomach that did not ease, however much she tried to breathe through it.

The tension lifted only when she told herself she had permission to decline, she said. Once she imagined not doing the show, she felt the anxiety 'release'. She took that as a sign that turning down the invitation was the right decision, even though some people around her wanted her to accept.

Miranda Kerr Reflects on 'Honour' and Past Victoria's Secret Shows

Kerr, one of the most recognisable Victoria's Secret Angels of the late 2000s, was clear that she still regards her time with the brand positively.

She described the new invitation as an 'honour' and said she felt 'very humbled' that the company wanted her back at 43 and as a mother of four. She also spoke of 'beautiful memories' of the shows and of friendships formed during that period.

She made her Victoria's Secret Fashion Show debut in 2006 and became an official Angel in 2007. She walked in six editions of the show, most recently in 2012.

'That was then and this is now,' she told Hirsch, adding that she is at a 'different stage' of life, focused on her children and on Kora Organics, the skincare business she founded.

Instagram Post and Paris Runway Hint at New Priorities

Kerr had referred to this change in an Instagram post on 18 October, the day of the Los Angeles show, in which she shared photographs and video clips from her Victoria's Secret years.

Marking '20 years since my first @victoriassecret show', she wrote that it 'meant so much' to be invited back, but that she felt it was right to 'cherish this chapter as it was'. She ended by sending 'love and light' to everyone in the 2026 show.

Kerr has four sons aged between two and 15. She shares the eldest with ex-husband Orlando Bloom and the three youngest with husband Evan Spiegel, whom she married in 2017.

She did return to the runway on 30 September at Stella McCartney's spring 2027 show in Paris, but said the nerves there felt different from those she associated with the lingerie event.
