Ryan Seacrest has shown off his muscular physique in new shirtless photographs and a video on Instagram, two years after saying he was 'over-exercising' and 'over-training' in an effort to feel younger.

The American Idol and Wheel of Fortune host, 51, posted the images on Saturday 3 October. One shows him bare-chested on a trail beside an ElliptiGO stand-up bike, looking towards the sky. A short clip shows him from behind as he gazes at the moon while the camera slowly zooms in on his back.

'This is what a day off looks like from start to finish,' he wrote, adding 'Go dawgs' and tagging the University of Georgia's football account.

Seacrest has regularly shared images of his training on the platform, including strength sessions and swims.

Reaction to Ryan Seacrest's Abs

The post drew replies from fellow television personalities and fans. Matt Iseman, co-host of American Ninja Warrior, wrote that Seacrest was 'holding it down for hosts everywhere' and looked ready to compete on the show's obstacle course. Another commenter said they would 'never wear a shirt' if they looked like him.

His slimmer appearance had prompted comments from some viewers on social media earlier this year. A source close to Seacrest had previously told Page Six that he was 'doing and looking fantastic' and that any stories suggesting otherwise were false.

Inside Ryan Seacrest's Training and Diet

Seacrest first spoke about his routine in an interview with Entertainment Tonight in October 2024, shortly before his 50th birthday. 'I feel good because I can't believe I'm turning 50,' he said.

He told his sister Meredith that he was 'over-exercising, eating better, over-training', with 'lots of muscle recovery', cold plunging and steaming. 'Anything I can do to make myself feel 29 again,' he said.

He has since posted workout videos with his trainer, Dodd Romero. In August 2025 he thanked Romero for his 'creativity and commitment' alongside footage of himself performing dumbbell exercises in the water.

On food, Seacrest told People magazine in 2023, soon after leaving Live with Kelly and Ryan, that he followed a Mediterranean-style diet of 'vegetables, fish and salad'. He said he did not eat a lot of meat.

He said he took a shot of olive oil before his morning coffee, which he believed helped with weight loss and inflammation. He also described staying in one time zone, rather than commuting between coasts, as life-changing.

Grief, Workload and Ryan Seacrest's Outlook

Seacrest's father, Gary, died in October 2025 after years of prostate cancer. Seacrest had told listeners of his radio show in July 2025 that the disease had worsened. Announcing his death on Instagram, he called his father his best friend.

Speaking to Us Weekly in December 2025, he said: 'Losing someone so close to you, my dad, my best friend, you realize that life is short.' He went on to say that 'some of the little things that we let bother us are not important in the grand scheme'.

Seacrest continues to front American Idol, took over as host of Wheel of Fortune in 2024 and presents the radio programme On Air with Ryan Seacrest.

He had offered on air in October 2025 to officiate Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding, but in July he said he had been unable to attend the ceremony at Madison Square Garden on 3 July. He said Disney had booked him to host a Fourth of July special marking America's 250th anniversary on 3 and 4 July, which meant he cancelled his RSVP.
