A social media post about having an entire ear removed has left fans concerned about Brandi Glanville's health. However, the former 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' star has not had her ear removed, despite the alarming suggestion.

Glanville sparked confusion on Thursday, 29 October, after posting on X about her latest surgery. 'Maybe it's my dad's way of keeping my mind busy, so I stop crying since I had one entire ear taken off:/' she wrote.

The comment prompted fears that doctors had surgically removed part of her ear during the procedure.

However, sources close to the reality television personality told TMZ that her ear remains intact. Doctors reportedly operated through the ear to access the affected area rather than removing it.

The clarification comes amid Glanville's prolonged health struggles, which have involved facial swelling, skin changes, and several medical investigations.

What Surgery Did Brandi Glanville Undergo?

Glanville underwent facial surgery in October to investigate and remove abnormal material and suspected growths that may have been contributing to her ongoing symptoms.

According to TMZ, the procedure involved thoroughly cleaning the affected area. The operation was intended to address the facial problems that have troubled her for several years.

The surgery was part of a broader treatment plan reportedly involving 90 days of antifungal intravenous (IV) medication, followed by another operation to remove her breast implants.

Glanville's recent post did not provide a detailed medical explanation of what doctors did around her ear. However, the clarification from sources indicates that the ear itself was not removed.

What Is Behind Her Ongoing Health Problems?

The 53-year-old has been documenting a complicated health battle since 2023, when she first began experiencing changes to her face.

Her symptoms have reportedly included facial swelling, painful lumps, skin changes and discolouration. She previously suspected a parasite was responsible, but subsequent medical investigations identified several conditions.

In September, Glanville disclosed diagnoses including antibiotic-resistant ESBL Klebsiella and Enterobacter infections with biofilm, coccidioidomycosis, also known as Valley Fever, Demodex dermatitis and mononucleosis.

These conditions have different causes and affect the body in different ways.

ESBL-producing bacteria can resist several commonly used antibiotics, making some infections more difficult to treat. Coccidioidomycosis is a fungal infection acquired by inhaling spores from soil, particularly in parts of the southwestern United States.

Demodex mites naturally live on human skin, but an excessive population can contribute to inflammatory skin conditions such as Demodex dermatitis.

Glanville has also discussed the possibility of removing her breast implants and dental metals as part of her ongoing treatment. However, the precise contribution of these factors to her symptoms has not been independently established.

Why Is She Facing More Treatment?

The latest operation is reportedly only one stage of Glanville's treatment plan. Her reported treatment plan includes approximately three months of antifungal IV medication before doctors consider removing her breast implants.

Her health problems have also affected her emotional wellbeing and social life. Earlier this year, she described becoming increasingly isolated while trying to manage her symptoms and the demands of treatment.

The reality star has previously spoken about the financial burden of seeking medical answers, with friends organising a fundraising campaign to help cover her expenses.

Glanville is also grieving the recent death of her father, Guy Glanville, who died aged 77 earlier in October.

Although the latest clarification has eased fears that she lost an ear, questions remain about the outcome of her facial surgery and whether the treatment will finally resolve her prolonged health problems.
